Indeed, some sharks and rays are worth more than the elephants, rhinos, and leopards that normally come to mind . Sharks and rays are traded for their meat, fins, skin, and liver oil. But the pull that the diverse international trade exerts upon fisheries is poorly understood, as is the strength of management response .
